Following Tropical Cyclone Debbie that impacted Queensland and NSW at the end of March, Gallagher Bassett has been appointed by a number of clients to manage a large volume of catastrophic claims which have resulted from the category four cyclone.

The claims will be managed by a large team of Consultants within GB’s recently launched Catastrophe Response division. Damien Gilhooley is heading up this new division as General Manager, having previously managed GB’s National General Insurance division for the past 6 years.

Damien brings with him a wealth of general claims and rapid deployment experience and in his new role, will be focused on providing dedicated claims management services to clients in peak load and catastrophe situations.

GB’s engagement has seen us double our Brisbane based claims team within a two week period to assist in the delivery of end to end claims services.

“Gallagher Bassett is the only dedicated Claims organisation with the proven experience, scalability, corporate governance and infrastructure to be able to rapidly deploy a full scale operational claims management solution within weeks.”

GB has been assisting clients since 1997 in rapidly deploying claims teams respond to peak loads and catastrophe situations. Following the Christchurch earthquakes in 2011, they increased a core team of 6 staff to 340 within 45 days.

Our focus is to establish long term sustainable partnerships with Clients, prior to peak demand to facilitate effective resource planning over and above the mere temporary allocation of labour. For more information contact us here.
