Gallagher Bassett has appointed Shaun Meehan as its new General Manager, South Australia.
Shaun has served as GB’s South Australian Operations Manager since 2012, and has more than 13 years’ experience at GB having previously worked in corporate and commercial leadership roles in New South Wales and Victoria.
‘I am honoured to continue the solid work of Gallagher Bassett and build on the contribution we have made to South Australian industry following our entry into the market’, said Shaun.
Shaun has been instrumental in building GB’s capability in South Australia since GB’s entry to the scheme in 2012, delivering a service not previously afforded to South Australia’s workers and employers.
Shaun stated, ‘To go from a start-up of 2 people to 230 staff in 6 months, then 24 months later see in the new legislation – a complete reversal of the unfunded scheme liability – and being a part of a new age of service-focused return to work services has been extremely rewarding’.
Executive General Manager – Statutory Workers’ Compensation, John McNamara, announced the appointment at GB’s most recent quarterly executive meeting.
‘Shaun is uniquely placed to have a positive impact on not only Gallagher Bassett’s business in South Australia, but also in cementing the new mobile case management approach within the scheme,’ John said.
Shaun’s appointment has been welcomed by Rob Cordiner, General Manager Insurance of RTWSA, stating ‘Shaun has demonstrated his leadership capacity in South Australia. In particular Shaun was quick to embrace the RTWSA mobile case management service reforms and lead the reform process for Gallagher Bassett. He is well placed to lead GB’s South Australian business’.
Shaun replaces Paul Easter, who has been promoted to the newly created role of Executive Director – Scheme Development
