Gallagher Bassett (GB) has been recognised with two awards at the Insurance Asia Awards.
This year, the prestigious awards were conducted over a virtual ceremony.
GB was presented with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year and Marketing Initiative of the Year.
The CSR Initiative of the Year was awarded for GB’s Gentle Bear Program. Gentle Bear came into existence through collaboration between GB and the South Australia Police Department to reduce Post Traumatic Stress-related injuries.
Since then, over 18,000 bears have been distributed to many emergency service organisations worldwide, including New Zealand police, and to comfort children dealing with traumatic experiences.
In May 2020, GB released Gentle Bear’s Big Hibernation, a children’s book designed to assist families to have conversations about quarantine and working from home with their kids.
The Marketing Initiative of the Year was awarded for GB’s myGB Poster Designer – a free online tool which allows employers to run targeted health and safety campaigns in their workplace. This is achieved through customising posters covering many of the most important health and safety challenges organisations face.
The lead developer of Poster Designer, Andrew Spilsbury, Global Vice President – Brand Strategy, Management & Growth, said:
“Poster Designer and Gentle Bear are both important parts of how GB connects with our clients and our communities – seeing these two programs recognised is something we’re very proud of because it reinforces that we’re delivering something our clients and community truly value.
It’s something we created in collaboration with our clients, and it’s fantastic to see the value of that collaboration being recognised.
In 2020 we’ve seen both these programs evolve to meet a changing environment. We’ve published the suite of COVID-19 posters and The Gentle Bear Big Hibernation storybook to help employers communicate health and safety effectively with their people and promote safer workplaces.”
Tim Charlton, the publisher of Insurance Asia magazine, said:
“Insurers have the responsibility to provide consumers with products that will fit the diverse needs of the market, especially during the pandemic.
The Insurance Asia Awards recognises the conscious efforts of these companies to put out solutions and deliver exceptional value to its stakeholders.”
For the fifth year, 75 insurers from 22 countries were recognised in the ceremony.
John McNamara, GB Australia CEO, is delighted with the news:
“We’re honoured to be recognised at the 2020 Insurance Asia Awards. One of the key tenets of The Gallagher Way is delivering for our customers, so we take great pride in receiving these awards.
The Client Solutions team have worked diligently to deliver for our customers at the heart of the claims process, providing them with tools, resources and up-to-date information.”
