Celebrating Excellence At The 2022 GB NZ Awards – meet Christina Maea-Brown

Every year, Gallagher Bassett (GB) hosts the GB Awards - a celebration of our people and a chance to stop and reflect on the amazing work they do each and every day.

Craig Furness, GB New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, said:

“I’m so proud of the way our people genuinely care and provide support for our clients, customers and each other. Our annual GB Awards program is an opportunity to stop and reflect on the achievements of our team members and the impact they make on our community.

There are five categories in the GB NZ Awards:

• Leader of the Year
• The Gallagher Way Award
• Going Beyond Award
• Aoraki Award

This year, Christina Maea-Brown was recognised with the Going Beyond award! Jessi Dasler, Operations Manager, nominated Christina:

“Christina has provided incredible support to her direct team and the wider claims team. Whilst being a leader, she also manages a high caseload of claims, and always keeps up to date with her customer contacts and claims management tasks.

Christina helps out other teams during periods of leave and is happy to take any calls on behalf of her colleagues.

Overall, she has gone above and beyond numerous times for her team and is a pleasure to be around”.

When asked about what she enjoys most about her role, Christina remarked:

“I love working with people - supporting and guiding the team, seeing their growth and development, when they see what I see in them.

It’s also great that I am still able to interact directly with customers daily in my role, hearing their voices, understanding their needs. 

I enjoy the variety and challenges every day / season brings, and am blessed to be part of an organisation that treats us like family”.
